- The hardest moment for any AC compressor is the split second it starts up. This kit uses a high-quality start capacitor and a precision potential relay to help reduce the duration of high inrush current during startup. Less time under electrical stress helps protect the compressor’s internal windings and terminals from heat-related wear, which may help extend the service life of your equipment.
- The CSRU2 kit comes pre-wired with three color-coded wires for easy connection: Black (Common), Red (Run), and Striped (Start). Match each wire to the corresponding terminal on your compressor. Includes mounting screws and a zip tie for secure placement inside the electrical compartment. Always disconnect power before installation.
- Unlike inexpensive 2-wire PTC boosters that may stay in the circuit too long, the CSRU2 uses a true 3-wire potential relay system. The relay senses the motor’s back EMF voltage and disconnects the start capacitor precisely when the compressor reaches approximately 80% of full speed. This helps ensure reliable startup without overworking the start winding.
